Privacy Policy.

Plain-spoken, India-aware, and honest about exactly what we collect and why. We treat your data the way we treat your money on a project — with care, and only when there's a real reason.

Last updated: 14 June 2026

Please note: This is a general, plain-language privacy policy intended to explain our practices clearly. It is not legal advice and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before being relied upon for compliance.

The short version

We collect very little, and we never sell it.

MyEscapeRoute ("we", "us", "our") runs myescaperoute.in as a growth-first web design studio serving businesses across India. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have — in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act).

1. What data we collect

Right now our website has no tracking forms or logins, so the data we hold is minimal and almost always given by you on purpose:

  • Contact & enquiry details — when you email us (for example via our "Book a discovery call" links, which open your own mail app) or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you choose to tell us about your business.
  • Future contact forms — if we add an enquiry form later, it will collect the same kind of contact and project details, and only the fields we genuinely need.
  • Basic technical data — like most websites, our hosting may log standard request information such as your approximate region, browser type, and the pages you viewed, for security and reliability.

We do not ask for, and you should never send us, sensitive information such as financial account credentials, government ID numbers, or health records.

2. Why we collect it

We use your data only for clear, limited purposes: to reply to your enquiry, to run a discovery call, to scope and deliver web design and customer-acquisition work, to send project updates, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations in India. Under the DPDP Act, your act of contacting us about working together is treated as consent for these directly related purposes. We will not quietly repurpose your data for something unrelated without asking you first.

3. Cookies & analytics

Our site is intentionally lightweight. It does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We may use a privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics measure to understand which pages are useful — this counts visits and page views in a grouped way and is not used to build a profile of you as an individual. Your browser settings let you block or clear cookies at any time; doing so will not break the site.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate — for example our email host, website host, and any advertising or analytics platform we use to deliver your campaign. These providers act on our instructions and only for the purposes above. Where the work requires it (such as running ads for your business), we will be transparent about which platforms are involved.

We may also disclose data if required by Indian law, a valid court order, or to protect our rights and safety.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and project data only as long as we need it: for active enquiries and live projects, for the duration of our working relationship, and afterwards for a reasonable period to meet tax, accounting, and legal record-keeping requirements in India. When data is no longer needed and we have no legal reason to retain it, we delete or anonymise it. If you ask us to erase your data sooner, we will, except where the law requires us to keep certain records.

6. How we protect it

We apply reasonable security safeguards — access controls, reputable hosting and email providers, and encryption in transit — to protect your data against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who can see your data and store only what we need.

7. Your rights under the DPDP Act

As a Data Principal, the DPDP Act gives you the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it.
  • Ask us to correct, complete, or update inaccurate data.
  • Request erasure of your data where we no longer have a lawful basis to keep it.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf, and raise a grievance with us.

To exercise any of these, just email us (see below). We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Contact & data requests

For any privacy question, data request, or grievance, write to hello@myescaperoute.in. Please tell us what you would like us to do and enough detail to identify your records. For the rules that govern any project we take on, see our Terms of Service.

9. Changes to this policy

As our service grows — for example when we add contact forms or new analytics — we will update this policy and change the "last updated" date above. For material changes we will make a reasonable effort to highlight them. Continuing to use the site or work with us after an update means the revised policy applies.
